❥ let me start off with pre-nibelheim headcanons because i miss a more domestic and ‘normal’ sephiroth rather than.. crazy seph lol

❥ so now let’s get into the actual thing!!

❥ i do not think that sephiroth is familiar with love whether it’s pre or post nibelheim, and if you read up on my angsty / comfort sephiroth fics you’ll see how i love the portrayal of where he’s so beloved by his fanclub and the public due to being a, “war hero” despite not feeling any close love like how you’d love him. the closest he’d get to developing emotional attachments would be his relationship with genesis and angeal (and maybe zack).

❥ it’ll take a while for sephiroth to fully trust and put his faith in you, but he’s actually very mature about romance. he doesn’t get very jealous and he’s very confident in your relationship and bond, if you read up on my jealousy hc’s i explain more there!!

❥ and when he really trusts you.. he’ll even let you perform his hair care routine on him when he’s too tired to do it himself. as you’ve seen, his hair is absolutely gorgeous and while he spends like an hour in the shower on just his hair— he spends more time when he’s out the shower as well with all the after product 😭.

❥ he enjoys having you brush his hair in the mornings and if you have long hair, he’ll return the favor. nothing’s better than sephiroth’s gentle hand cradling your head as he softly brushed through your strands, trying his hardest not to snag too hard on any tangles. if you’re comfortable with it, he’ll even hop in the shower with you and wash your hair for you. he’s not ashamed of nudity, he finds it a very normal and humanizing experience— knowing you can still be so vulnerable and not have it be sexual. he loves when you wash his hair for him too tho, it’s just super long so it’ll take a while lol.

❥ i cant see him as a morning person. i saw a post that he said, “sephiroths not a morning person, he’s a ‘im up because I have to be but if anyone talks to me, there will be murder’ person.” and i totally agree with that. you’ll wake him up, mentioning how he reminded you to wake up him bright and early tomorrow yet there you’d be, shaking his shoulder gently and he mutters a plea of five minutes more before pulling you closer.

❥ i definitely think that you guys would have to keep your love life private considering his job unless you’re like.. around angeal or maybe genesis. possibly zack, but you guys would have to make him promise that he wouldn’t tell anyone because he’d literally be so shocked. otherwise he’d go run to kunsel and brag about his knowledge or be so jaw dropped that he runs to angeal and is even more shocked when he already knows??? like, was he the only one who didn’t know about this whole thing??

❥ it’ll take a while for sephiroth to get comfortable with physical touch. although he secretly yearns for it, he’s also touch repulsed sometimes. it’s not that he’s appalled by you or your touch, it’s just that he’s gone so long without it that it’s foreign to him. once he gets used to it, he’ll eventually search for it and come looking for you in need of just some head massages or even just to rest his chin on your shoulder and view whatever you’re doing. he kinda does what cats do when they nuzzle the sides of their heads into your chest and like rub their noses into you.

❥ i’d like to think sephiroth’s very meticulous, so if you ever invite him in doing an activity such as baking or art or something, he WILL have to do it right or else he’ll get frustrated.

❥ as aforementioned, seph isn’t well versed in healthy love or adoration so if you even do a small task for him such as doing a chore he planned to do or cooking him pasta when he comes home— it will make him feel all gooey inside even if he won’t show it. he’s always calm and collected but, “even the coolest of people try their damndest to be alright,” as i mentioned in one of my headcanons for cloud lolol. he’s appreciative of even the small gestures, always making sure to thank you for your efforts as he knows they’re filled with love.

❥ for post nibelheim, though.. he’s lowkey manipulative. if you knew him before he found out about the jenova project, i’m assuming you’re only with him in hopes that he has some humanity within him that you can restore— well, that or you just like crazy men lol. he will definitely use that against you as a way of making you stay, always promising he’ll change after completing his plans with you by his side.

❥ if you met him post nibelheim though, he’ll be utterly fascinated with you as you’re basically his new toy. and he’ll follow you, regardless of when you met him. he’ll never let you leave his side after he’s gone crazy as he’s constantly reassuring you that his mothers legacy will be fulfilled, and that he can only do that when you’re beside him with support. it almost feels like it’s a shell of sephiroth. he never does any of the things he used to do before he was aware of who he really was, he’ll barely even let you touch him. he’s constantly on guard whenever you two are out, always keeping a hand around your waist or shoulder so that you don’t run off.

❥ id like to think of pre-nibelheim sephiroth as a soft dom. always being gentle, even when you’re sucking him off so nicely that he can’t help but grip your hair— he always makes sure not to pull it too hard and instead bites on his hand until there’s marks. he’ll always cater to you too, treating you like a pillow prince(ss) and is literally at your beck and call. he will not tolerate brattiness though and will definitely punish you if needed!! he’s just so kind, it’s only fair that he reciprocates the same words you give him :(((

❥ i don’t think he’d let you top him that much, maybe once in a blue moon would he let you act like you have control over him— but the moment you get too cocky, he’ll remind you of who really has the most control once he grips your hip dips and flips you over, catlike, vindictive mako eyes glinting in the shadows of his body.

❥ again, i’m sorry but it’s the truth, also a little manipulative. post nibelheim sephiroth would accuse you of talking to other men or wanting them to satisfy you instead. he’d grit his teeth and roll his hips even harder— claiming he’d just have to show you how much he’s ruined you for other people. they are but boys but he, he is a man. and he’ll make sure you know that by the time the day ends and the sun seeps through curtains.

Not only does Angeal dare to have embarrassing photos of them, he has candid pictures that show SOLDIER's finest just being boys, being real people unaffected by the need to maintain appearances. Some of these include:

• A photo of Sephiroth sleeping on the couch in Angeal's apartment with a fluffy blanket draped over him.

• Genesis, sitting cross-legged on an armchair in his pajamas, eating a slice of apple pie with crumbs all over his face.

• Sephiroth throwing Zack over his shoulder, with Zack mid-laugh, struggling, demanding to be put down.

The Banora boys get the Applin variants. Genesis gets a Flapple and Angeal has an Appletun

Genesis also tries to deflect attention onto his much flashier Ceruledge in public tho

Angeal was also given an Aegislash by his father which he nicknamed Buster. Buster has seen too much as it’s passed down to Zack and then Cloud in turn, watching its partners suffer but unable to form the words to comfort them

Hojo tries and tries to get Sephiroth something big, ultra-powerful and intimidating, but Seph is set on the adorable Mew which found him and refused to leave his side. Still a mythical so Hojo lets him keep it but is very miffed

Cloud was adopted by a Galarian Zapdos bc chocobo. I don’t make the rules. I do feel like the character arc the Sobble line goes through fits him really well tho

Zack has an unevolved Rockruff for quite a while. When it eventually does evolve, no matter what time of day it is, it will inevitably evolve into Midday Lycanroc because Zack’s sunny personality is overwhelming

Aerith has a Tinkaton. They’re perfect for each other

I don’t know how to explain it but Mudsdale gives me Tifa vibes, also it was a powerhouse when I had it on my team and I love it

Hojo created a Mewtwo bc all other pokemon rejected him, but it immediately turned on its creator and murders him violently, preventing all problems and fixing everything without the need for time travel

Insane Seph got a Deoxys bc creepy alien. Maybe it is Jenova in this universe and starts corrupting him as soon as he gets it driving him insane

Rufus gets a Houndoom bc that’s basically what Darkstar is anyways

Cait Sith is basically just Meowth already, I don’t need to do much here. Maybe Perrserker to be the version from the Scotland area Pokemon game

Alternatively for Reeve I feel like Duraludon works, bc urban development and it reminds me of the Neo Midgar concepts

Oh dear god while writing this I thought too much about the implications of SOLDIER still existing in a world where pokemon battles replaced normal fighting. Maybe it was an experiment to splice human dna with pokemon to get humans to be able to fight using pokemon moves too? So like you go up against a SOLDIER, faint all 6 of their pokemon and think yay I’ve won, and then the SOLDIER just starts going after your pokemon themselves. They are their own 7th pokemon

"I'M NOT AN ATTACK DOG!" said Cloud.

"Yeah you are," said Kunsel, from the ceiling vents.

"You totally are," said Cissnei, from behind a door.

"Sorry bud, you even look the part," said Zack, petting his ears.

"Cloudstopher, you absolutely are," said Angeal, pulling Sephiroth's boots off. "Get off of him so I can get the pauldrons off."

"HMPH," said Cloud, freeing Sephiroth so he could be herded into the nearest apartment, stripped, then clothed in...a bear onesie???

"Oh, so you don't go commando," said Genesis, sounding disappointed.

"Genesis!" hissed Angeal, then manhandled Sephiroth onto the couch. "Honestly. Anyway, it's Swan Princess tonight and I made cream puffs."

So they all watched Swan Princess and ate cream puffs, and Sephiroth got some cream on his nose. Genesis was tackled while offering to lick it off for him.

friendship bracelets:

Zack makes them, obviously, because he’s a sentimental dork, and in Gongaga it’s considered a sign of great affection to give someone something like jewellery. I like to think there’s a Gongagan tradition/ holiday a bit like Valentine’s Day but it’s for showing appreciation to everyone. And on this day people swap hand made jewellery to signify their respect and love for a person.

Mostly Gongagan kids swap them, and it’s a big thing in school, but Adults do also observe the day with those closest to them -or someone who has done them a great service through the year!

Zack hasn’t really observed the holiday since he left home, but when he finally becomes FIRST he gets kind of sentimental and homesick for some reason. So he buys a bracelet making kit from a craft store and makes a bunch of bracelets for his fellow firsts and Cloud and Kunsel, he makes one for Aerith too!

Giving them to Kunsel is pretty easy. They’ve been friends for years and have talked a lot about Gongagan holidays before. Kunsel is pretty touched actually, and hugs Zack. It’s a nice little moment between them. Quality brotherly affection. Hense the reason the word “brother” is stamped on the bracelet.

Giving Cloud his is funny only because Cloud goes bright red in the face and stutters through accepting it. Zacks pretty smug throughout the entire encounter about making Cloud blush like that. But he’s also incredibly emotional when Cloud turns up at 12:00 PM the same night and pushes a bracelet into Zack’s hand. Zack hadn’t known what to stamp on Clouds “best friend” seemed too weak and and anything more then that felt presumptuous to the point of impertinence, considering he was still battling with how he felt about Cloud. In the end he’d gone with “legacy” which felt like a cop out but Cloud seemed to like it.

It’s only as he looks down at the word printed on his bracelet that he realises he needs to seriously get his act together with Cloud… the word that both brakes his heart and makes it soar “everything”.

Aerith is pretty happy with her bracelet, and as she does with most things, gives him a bunch of flowers for his efforts! He deliberated on what to put on hers too. “Girlfriend” made him feel guilty. He loves her, he does… but he knows, and she knows that they’re playing a game until Zack tells her about Cloud. Instead he stamps “soul” on hers because she will always know his soul better than anyone.

Giving Angeal his is nerve wracking because it makes Zack feel stupid. He knows Angeal wouldn’t make fun of his homes tradition, but still… in the end the worrying is for nothing. Zack gives Angeal the bracelet stamped “mentor” and Angeal is very touched and even a little emotional over it actually. He gives Zack a side hug and puts the bracelet on immediately.

Genesis is -if possible- even more nerve wracking, because Zacknis absolutely sure he’ll be made fun of. He positively shakes out of his skin giving the bracelet stamped “hero” to Genesis and for a second Gen does do his whole “shoot it down in flames” thing until he realises two things: 1. Zack had gone to extend a art lengths to match the colour red to Gens coat, and 2. he turns it over in his hand and runs his fingers over the letters stamped into soft leather.

Zack absolutely panics when Genesis starts to cry. Gens emotional sure, but Zacks never seen the man cry. Gen asks him “why would you spend time on this for me?” And Zack tells him the truth, “cause you are a hero Genesis, and I wanted you to know that people see you that way.”

Genesis is never taking the bracelet off. Ever.

Then the only person left to give a bracelet to is Sephiroth. It is exceptionally hard to pin the man down that day, and in the end Zack has to wait a week for him to come back from mission. And then it’s terrifying to hand it over.

What’s even more terrifying is that Sephiroth kind of stops breathing for a second when Zack gives it to him. He sits on the edge of his desk heavily and stares at the inscribed bracelet in his hand. Zack says his name at least three times before Seph responds to him. When he does it’s with a shaking “why?” And Zack can only hug him and whisper back “because you are,”

The stamp simply reads “best friend” but it’s enough to bring the great general sephiroth to his knees.

Hey I have an odd question. Do Zack and Cloud still live with Tifa at the end of the Zack lives Au? Or is that still something that's up for debate? Also where's Denzel at?

Hey, no worries! Sorry for a tldr answer!

TLDR > Zack, Cloud and Tifa are always together, even if not living in the same apartment and Denzel lives with Barret and Marlene away from the Edge.

LONG ANSWER >

They don't and they do. Sort of.

In our AU, we settled that the building has more apartments. As in - there's a tiny little courtyard sort of in the back? That's where Cloud's garage/workshop is. This courtyard is a space these houses share. What I'm trying to say is that they live in almost the same house, but different apartments.

I was very adamant about the fact that Cloud wouldn't ever leave Tifa behind and needed to make sure he's always there for her, whenever she needs anything. He's just... in my AU, he feels like he owes her his life, so he wants to do the best he can do for her. And since for some, to him absolutely insane reason, what she wanted the most, was to be around him, he lived with her. Not like he had anyone else more important to him. And it made her happy. He'd do anything to make her happy. Until Zack was found. And Cloud realized he could and did have strong feelings for somebody else.

I only hinted it in the 'Arguments' comic, in one panel, where Tifa's standing alone in the apartment. However, Zack and Cloud moved out some time before they got together.

Zack couldn't sleep on their couch, because it was tiny and he's biggy biggy, he kept waking up with anxieties because WHERE is Cloud???, so Tifa found him sitting by their bedroom door a few times at night. He was asleep. And when Cloud found out about that, he decided it needed to stop and there was NO way he would ever force Tifa out of her own bed. So-- he took Zack and sort of left.

To a different floor/apartment.

He was being practical, as always.

'Our' Cloud has STRONG feelings for Tifa. He respects her, loves her, would do literally anything for her. But. All of those feelings are stronger when it comes to Zack, who was everything Cloud ever wanted and always treated him as his equal. While making him laugh, sacrificing his life for him etc etc all the events of the games hahah. But, I wasn't asked why I like ZC so much. SO.

As for Denzel...

I won't lie and try to make excuse - but man, I'm not a fan of the kid. Or more like - what he represents. For me he always stood as a representation of Squenix being too scared to admit, that yes, Tifa and Cloud are together and have kids together. No. That could enrage some of the fans and we need to make as much money from this as possible. So. Hey. Cloud found a kid. And declared him his son. And together they lived happily ever after. Eyeroll.

I drew most of my comics before I read the 'On the Way to Smile' book. I did see the episode Denzel meanwhile and loved it, because it showed events of VII from a pov of a bystander. And man do I love such stories. But Denzel never grew on me. So we always assumed that he left with Marlene, when Barret took her to live with him in the house shown in 'Gardens' comic. He's a big boy and he wants to be useful somewhere.

Then I read in the book that Cloud adopted him, eyerolled so hard and then shrugged, because I am, in fact, drawing a fan comic about my favourite character surviving his own death, so I suppose I can legit sort of skip some other things too, right.

It's a fanfic.

There's so much more we have on the topic of what happened later and in between. I was so sure I'd be drawing at least 150 pages more of the story and start telling a story with the three of them AND Kunsel joining them. But. Hey. I just. I burned myself out too hard with FFVII and I wasn't as excited about Rebirth as I hoped i'd be. So. Who knows if I ever manage. I still do want to draw at least some scenes, though.

So - Zack, Cloud and Tifa are always together, even if not living in the same apartment and Denzel lives with Barret and Marlene away from the Edge.

So with Zack, she was meant for him day one!!! The thing is that she comes from an age where OC x Canon (let alone canon with love interest) was the cringiest thing ever so they were not 'officially' meant to be together... I still drew them kissing, of course. This kid learned whole new language only to play ff7, ofc she wasn't backing down entirely!!!!

AND YEAH BECAUSE OF THAT WHOLE OC HATE THING she wasn't meant to be Angeal's actual daughter originally, like at all!!

I know better now and I revised it and I think it's the best most tragic thing ever. And you get it right!! She learns about it much later in life. Yapping sesh under cut

Unfortunately when it finally happens, she's at the stage where it doesn't click in her head as 'I owe all my strength and determination to Angeal as I have always wanted' but as 'I wasn't good enough to be considered a daughter'. She's so viscerally Hewley it hurts. Thank God Zack has them figured out by the end of the damn game because she'd just go the same route as daddy. I'm unsure what you mean exactly by 'how we met/fell in love' question BUT THATS JUST ME BEING SILLY AND CONFUSED, LET ME JUST TYPE WHAT COMES TO MIND HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE IT!! So I can't imagine their relationship developing differently than the most pain-inducing slow-burn the world has ever seen. On the 'how' part - Raven sees Zack for the first time, as she's hidden in Angeal's house in Banora that she refuses to leave because of Genesis is running amok. Naturally, she hears about him first much earlier from the letters Angeal wrote home and oh boy... From the get go, in her eyes, Zack is an obstacle keeping Angeal away from her, if not outright stealing Angeal's attention. She lives in such JEALOUSY of the guy for a while. It's just her luck that after leaving Banora and joining Shinra, she saves him from a missile during the attack on Shinra Building. If Zack is going through the floors instead of heading straight for the entrance she helps him clear them. (...And she only steps up to save him because Angeal probably wouldn't be happy if his ass got blown up, she'd much rather hand it to him herself!!!!!!) *Sprinkling in doodles so the yap sesh is less borning!!!!!!!*

Now as for the 'fell'. Their relationship does a 360 after Angeal is gone as Raven starts to see Zack as somewhat of a replacement, begrudgingly accepting that Angeal chose him not her to pass on his sword. She tries to earn Zack's admiration instead. IT'S NOT HEALTHY!! ESPECIALLY THAT ANGEAL'S LIKE 'Hey Zack I fumbled real bad with my daughter, please can you look after her?' Now they both see in each other the last embers of their loved one and the overprotectiveness kicks up to 11. They should be in therapy.

And it only really hits her that she likes Zack for being Zack when he's gone past Nibelheim. Girl!!!!!! Kunsel is absolutely the first to notice the shift in Raven, and he misinterprets it as her being head over heels for the guy. He even writes Zack a little mail saying how he wished she looked at him the way she looks at Zack!! Kunsel changes his take a bit after he gets to know Raven better ofc, after learning who Angeal was to her.

Thoughts while playing Crisis Core Reunion:

Context: I've watched the Crisis Core cutscenes multiple times, but only the scenes with full voice acting. I knew very little about the actual game play, mini games, fan clubs, mail, who the hell Kunsel was, etc.

Also there is no order to these. There May be spoilers sooner than later.

-oh my God there are a lot of side quests. Would be a shame if the game wasn't balanced for me to do them all.

-Yuffie exists?? She absolutely should not have been in this game. She's comic relief and all, but she felt SO out of place in Wutai. Absolute best part of her messing with Zack was "How did you find my mailing address?"

-Angeal, I love you man, but you probably should steal from the richest apple tree in town instead of other poor farmers. Like, dude. Please.

-Took me way too long to figure out how to take out the Wutai outposts

-I want to like Genesis. I want to like his dramatic shtick. But please. PLEASE. Stop quoting Loveless. There are other books

-Tsung yelled at me for running to the apple warehouse head on but I saw a chest! Don't get mad at me! I'm supposed to go there eventually! Also can you please help me with this mini game made for children but my timing is terrible

-Zack I may love you but please get a hobby that isn't squats on the beach

-Square said let's just upscale everything and keep it Grainy as hell. No one will notice that we only reanimated the summons at ALL.

-fusing materia is fun. I just kept making stronger versions of the 2 attacks I kept using but it was fun!

-I legit panicked in the Nibelhiem mission, thinking I somehow triggered the point of no return when suddenly we were in the reactor and I LITERALLY left Sephiroth alone in there so it couldn't trigger the next cutscene. I'm so sorry, my boy! I didn't mean to!

-I didn't know where that 7th secret of Nibelhiem was and I totally missed it EVEN THOUGH I DID THE OTHER 6

-I thought the scoping was a joke until I saw that mini game

-I wish we got more Cissnei. I was hoping there were more cutscenes than what I already knew but I guess not.

-I may have been too over powered for too much of the game

-Genesis went out in 4 hits the first time. For the final boss, I stopped doing side missions so it would be somewhat of a challenge. Love the final phase song though. The Soldier Way slaps!

-You MUST experience that final sequence. I didn't know about it. I knew the ending, but not what happens in the fixed battle. Extremely well done.

-This was a fantastic time.

Weird Cloud dream anon here. In last night's dream Tseng was randomly there (otherwise non-FF7-themed dream again)...but he was a group of cats? They were individual beings but collectively they were Tseng. I think that tracks.

You subconscious mind is absolutely right, and the Turks have a feral group of kittens they adopted and named Tseng collectively. The cats now alternate where they stay, and it's impossible to tell if people are talking about them or Human Tseng (who now gets called Human Tseng when someone feels like clarifying).

Who would you cosplay as from FF7? Your only limitation is that you will have to believe in all of their superstitions and conspiracy theories while in costume. For example, if you cosplay Zack, you must believe in Santa, the Easter bunny, local Gongagan myths like how you have to shake out your boots or the evil pixies will bite your toes to make you shorter, etc.

Oh god I do not have the gender qualifications to answer this without going into turmoil.

Okay, so assuming I could absolutely pull it off and not have a crisis afterwards I’d say I could pull off Aerith pretty well, simply because as a mean little sibling myself, I think I could match her energy and beliefs.

I am the zero energy, sit and stare at the wall variety of neurodivergent. I’m also far too logical to believe in mythical creatures. I love reading about them and writing about them etc, but believing is a whole ball game that I don’t have the hand eye coordination for. So Zacks out unfortunately.

I feel like I talk too much to pull Cloud off. Maybe I could if I was overstimulated? Clouds got a whole “not religious but definitely somewhat spiritual” vibe that I can rock with, and the urge to tell people to fuck off but also desperately want to help them I can definitely vibe with. I believe the author was David Clement-Davies. I still adore this book a lifetime later.

* Also I adore the trilogy by Marita Conlon-McKenna (Irish Author) which chronologies An Gorta Mór (the Great Famine) in her books Under The Hawthorn Tree, Wildflower Girl and Fields of Home. Brilliant short stories which pinpoint a time in our history through the lens of children. I read them as a 8 or 9 year old and still consider them very treasured reads.

last film / show : Last show was Avatar: The Last Airbender (live action) and Shogun. I have to finish Avatar yet, but I adore the animated series and I like the live action series so far, so I'll have good thing to say. As for Shogun, I came in arse-ways and watched the 5th episode first (because my dad watched all the rest and both of us were drinking together and he put it on ... anyway, I ate, no crumbs.). Looooving it so far. Need to do my retro-watching of the previous episodes. Cosmo Jarvis is giving me Jax Teller vibes for some reason and I can't pinpoint it.

recent reads : Ooooooh, such a changeable topic. At the moment, I'm adoring the author 'Tom Marcus' - a former British intelligence agent publishing under a pseudonym. Fantastic author who plops you right into the action and faultlessly explains usable aspects of spycraft and response/operational tactics. Really puts you into the mindset of an operational agent with this kind of burden and assignment.

*Very good read for anyone interested in the Turk aspect of FFVII .. just FYI. And the author is an absolute polite gentleman on Insta.

inspiration : I don't really know. I have a terrible habit of picking up muses which are overlooked by their own creators/developers and I fucking adore them. I loved Kunsel the first time I saw him back when I was 14 (many moons ago) and he had no voice and just him with his helmet, then fell back in love with him the millisecond that security trooper mentioned his name in Remake. But 99% of my muses are NPCs or side-characters with very little input such as Kunsel [FFVII], Shotgun[female Turk] FFVII, Dave Auburnbrie [FFXV], Petra Fortis [FFXV], Nyx's mam [FFXV], Carmina Rye [FC5], Eli Palmer [FC5] and a few others - anyone want to interact, just holler at me!!!!!!

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

Acts of kindness! You can and WILL get me just by having characters be gentle with each other or assist each other with absolutely anything. I love the small moments in down time scenes where characters can just. Be. And do small nice things for each other. Recovery after battles is a good place for that kind of thing.

(Shoot I get myself doing that.)

Happy reunions after being separated for a time also feel great. Like. That's your best friend! You've been looking for them! HUG TIME.

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

In Mental Link, my FFVII AU, there's a scene where the character Kunsel takes his helmet off. (For context -- Kunsel exists in Crisis Core, the FFVII "prequel," but we never see him without his helmet. People have been trying to figure out what he looks like for years.)

I teased my readers by having him take the helmet off and only confirming he has the blue mako eyes and saying nothing else about his features. Seeing the comments roll in on that chapter was delightful.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

I'm a sucker for inter-dimensional travel, firstly. I've got an OC that I channel as much of that desire into as possible. Maria Carlsdale gets to travel between realities and I get to sit at home and imagine them all.

I also like deep friendships, found family, and just. Writing adventures about saving various aspects of one thing or another, while also throwing a "what-if" twist into the works. It doesn't change the characters any -- I just throw a monkey wrench into the canon plot and see how the characters react to it. Those are VERY fun.

Some twisted part of me also likes to play with various kinds of mental manipulation of the mind control variety -- which, so far, has also been channeled into Maria's adventures. She's had to deal with so many attempts on her free will she's developed immunities to most of them. The twisted part of me complains that I can't use her as the victim, but honestly, she deserves it after everything I've put her through...and there are worse ways to use mind control than just force the protagonist to go under.

🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?

Depends! It flip-flops in accordance with many factors. I tend to prefer orchestrations to songs with lyrics, though -- it's easier to focus on what I'm writing when I'm not trying to listen to the words.

Right now, it's been a lot of FFXIV, FFXVI, and Mobius Final Fantasy music on repeat, when I do listen. I am very deep into the Final Fantasy franchise right now. XD

🍦 What's the sweetest fic you've created so far?

...thaaat's a tough question. But my mind goes straight to Sweet Tooth, which is a Gravity Falls fic about Dipper and Mabel discovering that their Grunkle Ford loves jellybeans. I wrote it after Journal 3 was released! Probably another one would be From One Support to Another, a Rising of the Shield Hero and Log Horizon one-shot crossover. I thought a calm moment for Naofumi, getting to meet Shiro the Support-class Sorcerer would do him some good.

🌞 Do you have a preferred time of day to write?

Early morning or at the end of the day -- mostly because that's the easiest time for me to write something. Can't write when I'm working after all (the journal I keep on hand is mostly for notes, not for whole scenes. Doesn't mean I won't slip a couple in there on occasion, though....)
